A Little Bit About Us
Growing Together Bible Study began
as a neighborhood Bible study in 1983 with a group of 8 and we
have since grown to about 150 women. We are inter-generational, inter-cultural
and very inter-denominational. We represent 50 different churches:
Catholic, Protestant, non-denominational, and some of us don’t
attend a church. We are friendly, inclusive and live in many communities in the western suburbs of Chicago.
We strive to provide a comfortable atmosphere where
each person can discover, explore and develop her relationship with
God through the
study of the Bible. We are a place to develop Christ-centered
friendships as we offer support, prayer and kindness to each other.
Our study
for the 2009-2010 year is Knowing God by Name: Discovering the Character of God in His Names
written by Mary Jean Young.
We invite you to join us!
We meet in small discussion groups in homes on three Tuesday mornings a month and a large group meeting of the entire
Bible study on one Tuesday morning a month.
It doesn’t matter whether you have attended a study, have read
the Bible before, or attend church. Everyone is welcome! You can
join us anytime throughout the year.
“The goal of Bible study
is not just learning, but living.”
