About Growing Together Bible Study (GTBS)...
Growing Together Bible Study began over 20 years ago and was
known as the Wayne Area Women's Bible Study. We began January 1983 with a
group of eight women and have now grown to about 175 women.
Our group consists of women (ages 20s through 80s) from 34 Protestant
churches and 14 Catholic parishes, as well as some who do not attend
church. Everyone is welcome! For the meeting schedule, visit our
Resource page.
We meet in small groups most Tuesday mornings to study the Bible at
various locations in and around the town of Wayne. We begin at 9:15 a.m.
for fellowship and start our study soon after that, ending at 11 a.m.
Once a month, we all meet for a "large group" teaching at Community
Fellowship Church in West Chicago on Route 64. We have been blessed to
have wonderful speakers who have covered a variety of topics.
Child-care is available in the mornings from 9:15 to 11:15 and the cost is
$6.00 per morning for the first child and $3. for each additional child.

As Growing Together Bible Study has grown so have our decision making,
financial and administrative needs. In response to this our Board of Directors
was formed. This board serves as a steering committee, representing the
interests of the members of the study.
GTBS Mission Statement
The Mission of Growing Together Bible Study is to bring together women
in a safe and welcoming environment, encouraging them to develop their
relationship with God through His Word, the Bible.
Mission and Vision Statement
“The goal of Bible study is not just learning,
but living.”
We are a group of women of diverse ages and
backgrounds encouraging those new to Bible study as well as providing an
environment for all to grow in Christ. We are intentional about making everyone
feel welcome and accepted.
"Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted
you." Romans 15:7
When there are different interpretations on non-essential doctrines,
we simply agree to disagree.
“People don’t have to see eye-to-eye to
walk hand-in-hand.”
